         Summer Intentions. 2012.

• don't let wedding planning take over my life
• go on summer dates
• teach oskar to play fetch outside (he plays it inside like a champ)
• work on my birthday list
• explore this city i live in
• go to liberty park yoga
• start training for a 10K
• de-junk as much as possible before moving
• cook more meals
• go camping and hiking
• go swimming. lots
• start writing more (maybe i'll bust out my dusty journal)
• enjoy my last summer as a single lady! (if you didn't start doing the beyonce robot hand just now, we might not be best friends)

trying to be super on top of things and start dinner cooking in the crockpot over lunch. too bad i didn't realize i had left my wallet sitting on my desk till i had already completed self-checkout. not even my outdated checkbook could save me, as they wanted a drivers license for my measly $5 purchase. sigh. the old man cashier gave me the most pitying look as i abandoned my bag of chicken, limes, and chocolate chip cookies. sorry brian, i bet those chicken tacos would have been delicious.

having my boss walk by my desk and see me simultaneously reading a blog, eating cereal, and texting. seriously guys, i'm going for golden employee of the year.

managing to get chocolate on my shirt pretty much every day.

forgetting to put my new pack of gum in my purse, and eating a half piece i found in my desk. i can't even describe how strange it tasted. (i still attempted to chew it for about five minutes)

awesome

getting wedding stuff DONE.

our engagment month-iversary is on sunday! i pshawed everyone who said it would go by super fast, but it really is! (also, every sunday i have wished brian a happy engagement anniversary. little does he know i plan on doing this for the rest of our lives...)

spending the weekend with my family/having a three day weekend.  i'm going to sleep in so hard.

sum-summa and having my first sno cone of the year. delightful.

getting to help with one of my besties and her bestie's engagement pictures. (can i just point out now that i say bestie ironically? would that improve anyone's opinion of me?)

Spring Breakation

i started making our spring break video in march, right before school kicked me in the face. i finally finished it in honor of both couples featured in this video now being engaged. vegas has magical powers.

also while in vegas, we were looking for little white chapels to take fake wedding pictures in front of (we're a pretty classy group) when we realized we had inadvertantly pulled up to a drive through chapel. there was a lot of panic and someone (i think it was brian) yelled "abort, abort!"

we obviously weren't ready for marriage yet.

a weekend.

this weekend was pretty perfect and filled with drives up the canyon, banbury cross donuts, wedding errands, engagement pictures, using my crockpot for the first time in....two years, church, catching up on revenge (it's sooooo terrible. but so addicting), brinner (breakfast for dinner) and a trip to Red Butte Garden.

brian spotted the tiniest leaf ever.

and got really excited about the duck hand basin. i sure do like him.

wedding type..things.

so. along with being engaged comes the responsibility of...planning a wedding. yes. that.

that is the thing that will be on my mind for the next 113 days. (um. i downloaded an app for wedding planning. but the home screen is just a GIANT countdown. i haven't gotten around to using the app at all, so i just look at the countdown sometimes. don't judge me.)

here are some issues with being engaged/wedding planning i have already encountered.

-there are a lot a LOT of really terrible photographers. but they still charge juuuust as much.

-i don't like wedding dresses. i mean...they're pretty. but they're all giant. and too sparkly. and seemingly identical. (are you in the market for a t-shirt top dress with figure flattering draping and a big skirt with any variety of pick-ups? have i got the bridal shops for you!) also, anything i need assistance to dress myself in reeeeally bums me out.

-i won't ever be able to refer to brian as my man or my hubby (i'm not judging anyone who uses these terms. i just know, for a fact, they will never come out of my mouth). i will, however, be able to call him "my gentleman caller."

-sometimes i forget that i'm engaged, so if someone notices my ring/asks me about it, i give them a blank stare for a good 20 seconds while i try to figure it out. people are starting to lose confidence in me.

-is engagement brain a thing? is there a way to prevent catching it? i really need to be on the top of my game right now.

no single ladies reference.

i promise PROMISED brian i wouldn't quote beyonce when breaking news of our engagement. so without any musical accompaniment...

I now find myself with a fiancé.

and guys....it's really really great.

I mean, I assumed it would be. But it’s way better than I imagined. And the proposal was just..perfect. And I’ve turned into a girl that is mushy, and overly excited about things like wedding magazines, and stares at her new ring allllll the time.

It’s confusing. But soooo happy.

Probably everyone has already seen these on The Facebook. But…this is my blog and I can post whatever I want.
