wedding prep.

i don't understand how people get married more than once. planning one wedding was pleeenty for me. going through some of these pictures from last summer still kind of stresses me out.

i'm really not trying to be a debbie downer about wedding planning. some parts were fun, i just much prefer the actual being married part. here's some of what was happening this time last year.

a big part of wedding prep is getting a marriage license. i really enjoyed sitting in the licensing office while we filled out our paperwork. it's a happy office! people were getting passports and at least a few other excited couples were also nervously filling out their marriage license forms.

that much closer!

we also decided pretty last minute to change our reception location. this actually went super smoothly and ended up working out perfectly. especially because it ended up raining that day, and the first place didn't have any kind of rain protection. which really would have put a damper on things. (damper! get it?)

we got our marriage announcement in the ever important Malad newspaper. also, Brian started getting decorating ideas.

we made a lot of wedding decor. those stupid lanterns were such pain to make (martha stewart is a liar), and they ended up getting ruined in the rain. oooh well.  the pinwheels were surprisingly fun to make. maybe because they were all completed while watching you've got mail. i made around 30 pinwheels, and somehow I only ended up with one. mystery!
(also oskar's favorite pastime is photobombing my pictures)

the saving grace of wedding planning (besides a super cool fiance) was the fact that ashley was getting married one week after me. we were able to talk about wedding stuff all day long without annoying each other, and went together to pick out flowers and rentals and look at dresses. i don't think our wedding would have gotten planned if hers wasn't happening at the same time. two nights before the wedding i tried really hard not to break anything while roller skating at ashley's bachelorette party and i was successful!

to be continued.....
